Lodge, Assist Holder Silicone Black

Works well on my cast iron that have the support handle.

This handle cover is terrific, truly didn't think I needed it however it is so much better than trying to use an oven mitt and excellent for removing the pan from the oven.

It's made well and fits my new Lodge dutch oven. I didn't read the entire description of the order and was disappointed that I only received one when I thought I had ordered a pair which would make the price much better and a 5 star. So I had to use a pot holder on one hand and this one the other. I saw the pics of others posting that is isn't big enough and you can still touch your hand on the side of the pan… My opinion is: Duh, that's common sense. Don't touch the side of the pot! I'm a smaller women, and my Lodge dutch oven is heavy, especially from the angle in which you're taking it out of an oven. I will still use my oven mitts, but it seems this keeps my mitts from slipping off the handles. I also believe this will help when handling the dutch oven for longer periods of time if need be without the heat transferring through my oven mitts. I'll update if I have problems with this product.

This holder for the assist handle on Lodge large pans is great for when we have a very full pan. The cast iron plus the weight of the food is more than one can easily lift with only one hand. So the assist handle is great, but if this silicone sleeve isn't used, a pot holder is necessary and can get in the way.This thing has saved our hands a few times since we use the cast iron pan a lot and move it from the burner to pour or put on a trivet on the table.Definitely recommend.

I have cooked with cast iron for years so I was skeptical of this "handle holder." I must also say that I am not a fan of silicone, if you get a cheaper product, and I don't mean price, then you won't be happy.Having said that, I really like this product. I can grab my pots, either on the stove top or in the oven, and be confident that it won't slip or burn my hand. If you place the holders, I bought 2, on the handle correctly - which is VERY easy - then It really does "assist" your ability to safely and securely grab the pot!I will definitely be purchasing some of these for my family and friends who also use cast iron. Yes, I would use these camping as well.Some details -trying to pick up a cast iron pot, pan etc... using just one of these with a pot will not work. I'm 5'3", 122lbs and over 50 :), so I like to hold both sides.You can use 2 of these on pots with assist handles ORyou can use 1 of these along with the Lodge silicone hot frying pan holder. I'm happy with both!Clarification - this will not work on a frying pan or traditional "pot" handle only the side assist handles.

Didn't fit well on my 10 inch or 12 inch Lodge skillets helper handles like I was expecting. They would work, but I know I'd eventually stop using them due to them not staying on securely. I decided to just return them rather than eventually trashing them.

My husband is a genius! We tried to put this lodge handle grip on my new Dutch oven but not a good fit. My husband turned it upside down and voila!! Fits perfectly! This is so weird because the name “LODGE “ is on the bottom of the silicone grip where it fits perfectly…. One would think the name would be on the top and visible. Go figure.
