Better than expected
Prior I have had black garlic from a certain small business gathering crafty website. Reading all the reviews about moldy garlic, I was a bit worried and not too sure what to expect flavor and quality wise, but I figured it couldn't hurt since the cost of this jar is the price of approximately 3 bulbs of black garlic. This is good value for the money for what you get. This will be the main black garlic I buy just because of the value, but I'll still buy other black garlic from smaller vendors. It comes in a nice plastic jar with a metal seal and I had no issues with packaging and suspect any issues of mold/damage probably happens once in warehouse/mail vendor hands.I ate 3 right off the bat. It was sweet. I would say it has a bit less of a balsamic taste than others I've tried. But the flavor and consistency is very uniform and standard. You will know what to expect with each bulb. The bulbs are very easy to peel and the paper flakes right off. It has a consistent sort of rubber/gel consistency. Very smooth and easy to chew and go down. A cross between al dente pasta with the chewy bite and a gelly, fruity consistency like gummy bears. You'll know what to expect with each bulb since it is produced in a standardized setting. One piece per bulb instead of many cloves within a bulb with varying tastes/textures within the bulb.I would say home made type you buy has a bit more of a range in flavor that I will still buy. But this has a good place for a more affordable yet pretty good black garlic source as more of the back bone in terms of money value and health benefits. This is good enough for me to put on subscription regularly.To sum it up, main pro is consistency in taste and value for the money. At the main time it can be a con because of the consistency in taste. It will still be decent in food, but have less of a flavor range, but the taste isn't bad at all and is sweet, but less of the balsamic range.

I bought this whole black garlic for its health benefits, but it turns out it’s also delicious — and my son absolutely loves it too. Delicious product
The taste of this black garlic is fantastic. It tastes more like candy than something that’s good for you. It’s like a blend between a gummy bear and taffy. It’s very sweet when you eat it by itself. It’s really amazing how good this product taste all by itself.My initial plan was to mince it in a blender, but it’s way too soft for that. So, mincing it by hand is the best way. The black garlic sticks to the blade of the knife when mincing, so I found it best to place some cooking oil on the knife before mincing. This reduces the chance of the garlic from sticking to the knife too much. When using the black garlic in soups, or any type of liquid, it best to scoop up some of that liquid in a ladle, mix the black garlic in it to melt it, and then pour the results back into the pot. If you don’t, then you end up with little pieces of garlic in the food if it does not melt quickly and evenly.I’ve been using this black garlic in my ramen broth and it really gives a more complex flavor to the broth. I’ve also minced it and used it ground beef to make hamburgers and the it turned out great. I also mixed it with butter to use as a spread for hamburgers, and other dishes, and it’s great for those uses as well.Highly recommend this product.

They taste great recommended by my Mom and all her church friends they are all hyped up because they are getting better sleep which gives them more energy, they feel like they are eating healthier, etc. I Read up on it and had to buy some for my queen 👑 mom and some for myself. So they recommended 2 per day so I'll be taking 1 at AM and 1 at bedtime. Price is reasonable. Will keep you posted

Just One Problem . . .
I was intrigued by the health claims for fermented black garlic, plus I love garlic. The customer reviews here decided me, so I bit the bullet and went for it.My order arrived quickly, so I dove right in. I find the price reasonable enough to allow myself two servings/day, rather than the one recommended. Homtiem Black Garlic really is delicious and the reviews were spot-on--no lingering aroma of garlic at all (it doesn't repeat on you either). In fact, the only issue--and I can't say I wasn't warned by the reviews--is that the texture is kind of weird. Believe it or not, it really is something like a chewy, gummy candy although it's not as rubbery. I'd have preferred that it be different--maybe smooth, maybe a little crisp, maybe if they'd dehydrated it, whatever.Regardless, I WILL purchase this again. I can get past the texture, although it's extremely unlikely I won't continue to find it somewhat off-putting. At this point, it's far too early to determine whether or not there are any health benefits; time will tell. However, this provides a good excuse for consuming garlic daily, without the bite or smell, in a deliciously sweet form. My recommendation is to give it a try at least once--with any luck, the texture won't bother you as much as it does me. YMMVETA: The product description and label both claim a jar contains 60 pieces. 30 is more like it. Beyond misleading; a blatant lie.
