Q: Could this be used to extend a 13A EV charging cable?

I’m not sure if an electrician would condone using it for an extension to a 13A charging cable, however that’s exactly what I’m using it for at the moment. I’m building an extension to my house at the moment so I can’t park my car near the external socket. The extension lead is permanently plugged in to the external socket and I’ve cable tied the extension reel to my temporary site fence adjacent to where I park my car. It’s been like that for 6 months or so now and I’ve had no problems at all. I’ve noticed that some of the screws on the reel have started to rust but by the time that becomes an issue I’ll be finished with the reel.

I don’t think it would take anything larger than a normal plug.

Well I am using this for my hot tub. And seems ok.

Q: Can it be outside in the rain for couple weeks for a Christmas light display

Yes.this is why I bought it. Unfortunately it did not work as Intended. Not for any issue with the product. More so the plug size on the outdoor decorations. It was a plug uk as normal but it stuck put more so than a normal typical plug. Which meant you can't fasten down the clip. I simply put a plastic box over extension to protect from rain and it was fine.
