My two cats (15 and 8 years old) were tearing through the tiny round pads that go in the middle of the ball chase game so fast that it was starting to get expensive. I bought one of these to try and slow that down. Best decision I ever made.In my opinion this scratch pad wears like iron. I bought my first one, give or take, about two years ago. My two cats loved it. So much so in fact that my sister took notice and bought one for her 2 cats. They both love it as well. Both of mine went at it for about a year and a half before I wound up with a third stray (1year old). Some filthy excuse for a human being shot her, and she is now a "lefty" tripod. My first two after a year and a half didn't really put much of a dent in it. My tripod on the other hand,(no pun intended) with her concentrated left hand digging, has managed in about 5+ months to get about a quarter of the way through it. Best part is though, if things continue the same, and she makes it all the way through in the next 15 months, you just flip it over, and it's brand new again on the other side.After 2+ years of use I'm not buying this new one because my other one wore out yet. I'm buying this one because my tripod has taken over the old one and claimed it as her own. The other two never get a chance because she's always on it. So, I'm buying this one, #1 because I already know the durability, and quality. #2 The other two need it, and I already know they love it. #3 It was on sale. Which doesn't really matter because I would have paid the extra 20% or 30% for this scratcher again anyway. But it helps, and I appreciate the discount. I definitely recommend this 100%.

OK...PICTURE THIS: The Animal Rescue people asked me to temporarily house a 12 yr old male cat, abused, skinny, regularly beaten-up by younger bully cat in foster home.OK...NOW PICTURE THIS: I adopted this gentle cat, gave him love, food, toys, AND HIS VERY OWN PET FUSION SCRATCHER/LOUNGER.......HE'S IN HEAVEN! He not only scratches his nails on it, he sleeps on it, plays with toys that I "hide" in the loops, and even lounges on it to watch his favorite tv cartoons!!!

Two years and two apartments later this sturdy and strong cat scratcher is still going strong! My cat lounges, sleeps, plays and grooms herself on this. When we first purchased it, we placed it by the bedroom window, then we had it on the floor. After our third move we just flipped it upside down to hide the well worn side. Now it rightly has a place on top of the hidden litter cabinet and she still loves it! Cardboard has held up well. May buy a new one and the same shape next year or the following year. It was well worth the cost!

Even though its expensive, its a good investment for your cat! My 3 cats are obsessed with it and I often find them sleeping on it after doing a major nail scratch session. Worth every penny and they last about 3 years (with 3 cats!!!) And you can flip it over when it gets too shredded. Also if you have a workshop you can cut it in half and it makes new scratches from the middle! Obsessed. Thank you as always (this is my 3rd one!)

May seem a bit pricey but my cats love to both scratch and lay on it. Tougher thus lasts longer than most cardboard scratchers. Plus, can flip over when top side gets ratty. Best scratcher I have found in 50+ years!

My cat loves this scratching device. He took to it right away, yes I sprinkled some cat nip on it , which the company provides with this. The only negative aspect to this deluxe lounge area for my cat is that it has an odor, which eventually goes away, but it is stinky! And if it was a inch or 2 wider that might be nice, but my cat is not complaining! It is sturdy and well made and stable.

My cat loves to scratch and lay on this. There is one significant issue though. It stinks. It smells bad. The smell doesn't fill a room, but you can smell it if you sit down near it. I have an air filter going right next to it, but it still smells and I've had it sitting out for a long time. If you can put up with the smelly cardboard, it is a good product.
