Solid toy which will last
Great toy for a Jack Russell, as solid and pretty indestructible, although this means that it is slightly heavy for her to carry about.

Bell too small to make a proper jingling noise?
Bought this for a recently blind dog. The toy looked fair quality in terms of chew resistance but, possibly because it is quite small (10cm long), or possibly just because we had a defective one, it sounded more like there was a dried pea inside the toy than a bell. You could hardly hear it at all - even in a really quiet environment - so decided to send it back. If the sound element is important for your pet, proceed with caution; if it's not, then this is probably ok for a medium to small breed of dog, under supervision. I'm not convinced it would last long with a strong jawed, large dog or persistent chewing ...

Not puppy-proof
Within 20 minutes my 10 month old Scottie puppy had chewed through where the hole is and the bell was about to come out! This was a replacement for another that lasted a lot longer. I have since taken the bell out so she doesn’t swallow it.
