Hand made Original 2 Cup Brown Betty Teapot in Cobalt Blue (Cobalt betty)

I ordered this little pot because I wanted to be able to brew two to three cups of tea at one time. I have a larger pot that is great for 4+ cups, but too big for less than that. The pot came quickly and in perfect shape, really well packed. The color is true to the picture on my monitor and is a lovely rich cobalt blue.I brew my morning tea all at once in this little pot and as long as I heat the pot with hot water for a few minutes while the tea water is boiling, it stay warm through both cups. Occasionally, I wrap the pot in a towel, or set it on the radiator if I am going to take longer to finish my tea. I work from home and can sometimes get busy leaving the tea to sit longer than I would hope.My only less than stellar comment is that the handle gets very hot, which is to be expected with this type of pot. I use a towel or pot holder to pour with until the handle is cool enough to hold comfortably. I'm sure that you can buy something to wrap around the handle to protect your hand from the heat, but it hasn't been a big enough concern to bother looking, it's a clay tea pot, they get hot...It's a great little pot, just perfect for my needs, well made and pretty too!

Perfect size- brews a marvelous cup of tea. Does have a "kiss" mark on the handle from the kiln- just adds to its charm. Minor issue with spout drip was addressed with a silicone spout protector. LOVE the deep cobalt color!!

My mother and grandmother have had the classic brown betty teapots for years, so I was really looking forward to having this little one for myself, but it dribbles tea down the spout and makes a mess all over the counter every time I use it, no matter how full it is or how carefully I pour. Thinking back, I seem to remember this happening with one of my mom's pots, too. I'm disappointed because not only is this a classic that I was looking forward to owning, but also 2-cup pots are hard to find. Oh well. I'm planning to send this one back.

I am disappointed with this teapot. After a few months of use the exterior of the pot shows noticeable crazing all over the surface. I have two other earthenware teapots made in England purchased over 30 years ago that look newer and in better condition. The handle is hollow and when the pot is filled with boiling water, the handle is too hot to touch without a potholder. It is a pity because this shape pot makes excellent tea, but the quality is inferior.

I returned my order from Amazon as the "2-cup' teapot is actually, (I measured) 4-cups. This isn't a small 2-cup teapot for one. In frustration I ordered one directly from Caudon Ceramics in the UK. It also came through as a quart capacity teapot. I decided to keep it anyway, but after a few weeks it is completely laced with crazing that leaches a white residue along the cracks (?) Back on the search for a quality diminutive teapot.

Great product with one major issue!Quality is fantastic color and glaze perfect.Brews really well with loose leaf tea or tea bags, sizing is perfect 2 full cups.Now the issue: when you put the boiled water into the teapot the handle gets SO hot you cannot pour into the cup without some sort of cloth because it burns your hands.Design fault?Still a great teapot, would have received 5 stars without the handle issue.

i've had this brand of teapot in the past so i was happy to find it again. it's great for keeping a couple cups of tea nice and hot so you can take your time and enjoy it.
