I bought this hoping it would function as a heavy winter coat. I live in Utah, which doesn't have insane cold, but it'll get down into the teens pretty regularly and a light jacket isn't enough to stay comfortable.This jacket is very warm. It's not cold enough right now (April) to really put it to the test, but in about 40 degree, rainy, windy weather, I don't even notice the cold. The insulation on this thing is fantastic, and the waterproofing seems very good, too.The amount of storage/pockets is great and makes it very functional.I'm 6'1" and 180 lbs and got the large. It fits well. With the liner in it, it's snug, but not enough that I would size up another full size.The price is hefty, no doubt, but I think this will last for many years, so it's probably worth it for anyone that frequently works or plays outside in cold or rain. For anyone that's just looking for a coat to wear occasionally, this might be overkill, but if you're going to use it a lot, I think the price can be justified.

My husband does not get excited about his clothing, but he is really raving about this coat. He says it is the nicest coat he has every had and can't wait for winter again to wear it. This has a zip out lining, and a zippered pocket to open up that has a hood. There are multiple pockets and this is super warm. It is heavy but not in a weigh you down sort of way and the lining being removal means this is really versatile as far as being able to wear it in varying weather. It is easy to move in and waterproof. My husband has had other heavy coats and they have all been too long to be comfortable to be outside and work in. This one is just the right length. My husband is 6 ft tall 210 lbs and broad shouldered and I ordered an XL. We probably could have gone with a large, but I wanted him to be able have room to move without it being tight. We love this coat and can't say enough good things about it. It is fairly pricey but so well made, versatile, a classic design and will stand up to years of wear!

This is a nice heavy multi-functional jacket. With the inner lining, it gets warm fast. It's nice that you can separate the pieces to make it more usable during the different seasons. I ordered my usual size (LG) and it fit as expected. Snug with the inner lining which will help keep the cold out. But it didn't limit my mobility. The outside layer was a bit loose (as expected) when the lining was taken out. You can also wear just the inner lining separately; being a 5-in-1 jacket and it had a better fit. I removed the hood as it made the neck area a little snug. But, I could not figure out what the zipper on the back and the rigid velcro insert was for. But overall, I like the jacket.

I live in the south. Our winters are cold at times but I had to return this jacket as it was just too heavy. It is very well made. I would give the jacket 5+ stars if it weren't so heavy.
