Wall Lenk LTR100 Temperature Regulator

This turned a frustrating beginning "maybe" hobby to a very pleasurable and exciting new art form I've developed. I'm getting compliments like "not many can do this type of art". Not that I need all that pat on the back it's just a cool thing to be happening in my "middle" years of life. To be able to adjust the temp is so important to me for shading etc. Without control which I did that way for awhile I wrecked things thinking the thermostat was warming back up when it was real hot and made a big black mark rather then something more fine when I touched it to the wood. I have favorite tips and know at what temp I want to set for which tip and which effect I want and turn the knob according. To draw with fire as they say is definitely an art. I can see eventually moving into something more advanced but then maybe not. I've heard other people say they like the tried and true old tool which is also a cool tool especially when you add this.

This temperature regulator does the job well enough, but for the price I expect that the label would have be put on the housing straight. It was not a surprise that it was crooked, however, because the product photo shows a misaligned label just like I received. Further, the power indicator label is poorly adhered, so I expect it will not be attached for very long. More annoying still is that the unit is not heavy enough to keep the regulator resting on the table when the weight of electric cord is not supported just right or the cord becomes twisted, and I fear that it will not survive many falls to the floor. It seems like cheap junk, but it does currently function as required. Can anyone suggest a better made item of this kind?

previously I had purchased a wood burning kit that had a temp regulator in the cord itself, disliked it greatly for a number of reasons, so I purchased this and a cheap wood burner/solidering iron and this combo works great. The regulaor(that's how they spell it) knob has enough tension that it will stay where you set it. The cord is nice and long and the unit didn't get hot when I used it, actually didn't even feel warm. I use it as a hot cutter to cut foam etc so I'll need to determine where to adjust the knob to suit my needs the best, but after some trial and error I think this set up will serve me very well. I have tried foot pedal rheostats before and they get really hot which isn't a good thing when dealing with electricity.

It works very well for reducing power to my wood burner. Now I don't have to put off a more expensive wood burner.

Does what it is supposed to do. I also used it to control the speed on my router. I recommend it.

Works well, but what I didn't expect was that it shows percentage of heat and not temperature. You have to experiment to get the temperature you want. Seems durable but have only used about 6x.

I'm a new woodburner and this temperature regulator has really helped me control the heat on my Wall Lenk 2 in 1 tool. Works great!
