I purchased two of these for my travel and for home base. It's better than I expected... I have a triple barrel wave maker... it fits perfectly in this sleeve and it REALLY needs a hot pad AND a sleeve - this is both! The sleeve is WIDE. If you're using a regular single barrel... you could fit two or three in it... not that I would do that... but if you only put one single barrel iron in there, it will swim in there! And of course, any flat iron will fit. Honestly, this is one of my favorite things I've purchased in a while. It's great when something you order to do something and it actually does. The two I purchased are hot pink. The outside is ridged and because it a silicone material, its insulating and protects surfaces. My triple barrel wave maker fits completely in it... with nothing hanging out. I am going to say if you have one a curling iron, flat iron or major wave maker (triple barrel) and you travel - you need one or two of these. Reasonably priced in my opinion as well. Just fyi... I have tried many "creative" thing... hot pads and a rubber band to hold it together.. A thick towel... (they actually burn if you leave your iron on it - yikes) These are the answer. Having said all that... I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful.

It works it has the iron on it for my hair and hasn't melted

I bought this because I usually wear wigs & I style them in a spare bedroom (a multi-purpose spare bedroom) & use a little wooden table for my tools. This silicone mat protects the wood from getting damaged from heat tools, especially my hot comb. Works great. The mat doesn’t melt or get too hot.This also opens up into a pouch to place your hot tools in if you’re on the go & can’t wait for it to completely cool down, like if you’re at the gym or traveling.My only complaint is that I ordered what looks like a hot pink mat, but in reality, it’s like a light neon pink. It’s not even close to the color in the stock photos.I bought the version with the glove because it was only $1 more. The glove is a joke. It’s just a knit glove, not a true heat protective glove. But it could still protect you just enough time to react if you accidentally touched a hot comb or a curling iron. If I’d had any kind of glove on about a month ago when I lost my grip on my hot comb & instinctively (& stupidly) tried to catch it, I might have not gotten a second degree burn on my wrist).$4.99 is a good price even if it was just for the mat.

Great product and held up very well when took on vacation. Made me feel more secured that I'm not going to burn counter or touch flat iron. FYI: Let tools cool before you put them inside mat to be safer

I carry a straightener and a crimper and this holds both at the same time. I'm able to heat both units up and once I'm done, I stick both into the carrying case and off we go. The silicon is thick and holds onto both items well.

The media could not be loaded. This is a fantastic tool for when I straighten my hair. I have an ikea desk I use to do my hair, so heat safety is a priority. This works so well for a 1” or 2” straighter.
