Greatly improved tool.
Generally a much improved version of the original superjaws. Locking and unlocking are quicker, easier and safer (meaning no chance of getting rapped on the shins with the pedal.) Also the locking pin is positively attached, far more sensible than the original cup-and-dimple system which was always problematic and was the reason mine failed. Absence of the original's bracing struts between the legs means overall stability is slightly reduced though still acceptable and certainly worth it for far greater ease of assemby, plus slightly reduced weight. .Also the plate to put your foot)on is much smaller. I've found that a lightweight folding wooden strut between the front legs restores original stability. Doesn't need to be beefy; just around 30mm square, with ends cut to meet angle of the legs. After some trial and error I found overall length between points of angled ends needs to be no more than 74.5 cms or very slightly less. Rather than use metal hinge I cut one mortice-and-tenon style into the wood, held by nut and bolt. Both sections need rounding over to allow full folding. Make it a fairly tight fit and it avoids any side to side flex better than metal hinge. The ends need to be shaped to match the leg angle. Then glue/screw two small cheeks to project 20 mm or so beyond the points to keep the strut in place on the leg.(otherwise it slips off under pressure.) Having worked with it, I think I'll make another split something like 60/40 rather than 50/50 so as to put the hinge further away from the foot pedal.

Very Portable and very Strong Workstation
I purchased this Triton SJA200 Superjaws Workstation as I needed a very portable workstation that was extremely strong and capable of clamping heavy duty metal uni-strut, I already have a Triton MSA200 Multi-Stand that I use with my well know branded workbench, but I have found that my workbench just was not up to the job of clamping and cutting HD uni-strut. The problem when working on sites is that the surface that you are working on is usually very unlevel and I have found that with the standard workbenches they just move all over the place when cutting the likes of uni-strut with a hacksaw, if the workbench moves too much then then the metal you are cutting falls of the Multi-Stand then the uni-strut either jumps out of the workbench or everything ends up on the deck. What struck me straight away with the SJA200 was how compact it was when folded down as it was far smaller than my standard large workbench when folded down, but the best thing about it is how stable it is and it does not matter what state the surface is in that you you are working on, the three legs find their own level and due to the spread of the legs it is so stable. I am glad to report that the SJA200 is an excellent heavy duty workstation capable of clamping just about anything as long as it is under 100KG. One of the best features of the SJA200 is the method that it employs to close the clamp on the work piece, the fact that you use your foot to clamp the jaws is like having an extra hand as it leaves both your hands free to manipulate the work piece. The SJA200 Superjaws and the MSA200 Multi-Stand make an excellent workstation combination to tackle any heavy duty job and creates a very stable platform for cutting, drilling, filing and bolting together. The stability needs to be seen to be believed as I did not think that a 3 legged workstation like this could be so stable, and both of these Triton product fold down and are so very portable, highly recommended and highly rated.

Heavy, but good!
If like me you've been disappointed by poor quality of recent workmate-type benches, this is an excellent alternative. Built like a battleship, it can grip a variety of shapes and sizes, from about a centimetre to a metre in width. Downsize is the weight at 18kg, and though it is a clever fold-down design, I still found setting up a bit cumbersome (though you do get used to it). The vice action is great, very positive, powerful, and fast, much quicker than all that handle-twiddling on a workbench. At first I missed the convenience of a bench worktop, but soon found that any flat bit of wood could be instantly clamped on to form a strong stable work surface. Also, I bought the optional side tool tray which proved really useful. Regards finish, as mentioned by some other users, I did notice some sloppiness in alignment of the sliding vice arm, but nothing to compare with the shoddy standard of Black & Decker's latest Workmates. Overall, I thought the Triton a practical, reliable piece of kit, and very good value for money against the competition.

Excellent piece of kit
Great quality, workbench and jaws. stable, solid, massive clamping area. Wish I had found this years agoSo easy to assemble and operate, foot-operated clamp and release, brilliant design so you can position the workpiece with both hands then use the footpedal to clamp it, no fiddly handles or screws to turn.I wasn't sure I would like the three-leg design, but it actually works really well - its stable, you can move around the work-piece to tackle it from different angles much easier than a 4-legged one.I also bought a cheap Draper variable height trestle, to rest the other end of my planks on, as it has a height setting the same height as superjaws (and I didn't want to buy two)when folded, the third leg acts as a great carry-handle,only (minor downside) is that at 16 kg superjaws is quite heavy, so its good to have a couple of lighter sawhorses as well.
