good sound

I bought this mic for my gaming setup. The sound quality is good. I bought a boom arm for it. It looks like any other mic, but for the price and performance, I think it is a good deal. It is not a big mic, and it is also light. Feels very sturdy.

Love the weight of it and the sound is good

Absolutely love this microphone. Sure, it’s a go-to brand for a lot of serious artists and performers, but we’re just using it for our home karaoke setup—and honestly, it still feels like we’re holding something professional. It’s got a solid weight to it, not flimsy or plasticky like some cheaper mics, and it feels great in the hand. The sound quality is crisp and clear, with none of that hollow, tinny vibe you get from budget gear. Even in our not-so-soundproof living room, voices come through clean and balanced. It’s definitely leveled up our karaoke nights—now we almost sound like we know what we’re doing. For the price, this mic punches above its weight, and it’s earned a permanent spot in our setup.

IF YOU HAVE TO ASK, YOU DON'T KNOW THE LEGEND

I've been hearing about the Shure SM58 since I was a kid in high school 40 years ago. Only now did I have the need to buy a microphone, and I was very glad to learn that the SM58 is still around and doing it right. I love the additon of the on-off switch. This mic just works. For the price I consider it a great value to own such a legendary workhorse!

Excellent great sounding mike

My voice sounded perfect over the PA at the racetrack using this mike. Very nice on off switch, easy on the thumb, Well balanced feels right at home when hanging on to it. Can't go wrong with Shure.

The greatest all-around performance mic ever made... period.

I have used this legendary microphone for over 50-years as a working professional, and it has NEVER let me down, even once, and I was a traveling rock drummer doing one-night stands for most of my life. Not only does it sound great, but it is as tough as NAILS, always and important consideration during the grueling pressures of live performance (in a pinch, it will even double as a hammer). I always buy the one with the ON/OFF switch, as it instantly stops any feedback problems, as well as silencing the mic from any unwanted noises. While some people seem to be worried about the addition of an on off switch as far as reliability is concerned, they simply don't know what they're talking about. I have only needed two of these mics for my entire professional career, AND NOT A SINGLE SWITCH EVER FAILED TO FUNCTION OR WAS EVER DAMAGED FROM HEAVY USE. This fear is totally unfounded, as well as any mistaken belief that a switch interferes with the sound quality... it doesn't.P.S. I just purchased a Sennheiser e945 as a possible upgrade to this mic, and I HATED it. The feedback issues were horrific (particularly with no on-off switch to deal with it), it was twice as heavy, and worse still, my vocals just didn't sound as good, from top to bottom.P.P.S. Today, Labor Day 2022 I was doing a live gig outdoors, when I actually tripped over the mic cord and the mic slammed directly into the concrete, HARD. I was a little worried since this was my only mic, but of course, the 58 came through beautifully, with just a little dent in to windscreen. When you career depends on it, leave it to Shure to come through, every time.
